Hot putter ensures another paycheck for Turner

Niall Turner is safely through to the weekend at the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open in Yangon, Myanmar.  Two sucessive 69’s saw the Corkman finish on -6, well inside the cut mark of -3.  Turner was having a reasonably steady round, he was +1 for the day at the turn but was losing ground on the field.  The was until until the 14th, he birdied that and three of the next four holes to climb back up the leaderboard.  The bounceback was needed as Turner was in danger of missing the cut halfway through his second round.  Turner’s putter was hot on the greens again today, seven one-putts helped him to a total of 29 putts for the round.

He’s currently six strokes off the lead and just outside the top 30.  Turner pocketed close to $10k last weekend in Singapore.  Turner has Tralee man Kenneth Quillinan on the bag again this week, and the pair will no doubt look forward the final two rounds and another paycheck.  This is exactly the start Turner would have wanted, he missed the start of last season due to back surgery and spent second half of the season the season  chasing his tour card.  Last week’s result was a great indicator of his current form and he’s continued that into this week.
