Neptune Raise the Roof Classic

Neptune Basketball Club will be hitting the golf course next month as they hold the Raise the Roof golf classic to raise funds for essential work on the roof of Neptune Stadium.  Blarney Golf Club is the host venue for the event which takes place over three days in August.  The classic starts on Thursday 12th August and runs through to Saturday.  There’s an early bird offer of €180 on Thursday and teams on Friday and Saturday are €200.

Top Class week for Douglas

As weeks go, last week was pretty impressive for Douglas Golf Club.  A national title, a provincial title and a few key wins in inter-club matches meant that Douglas had an exceptional week.  Karl Bornemann and Sean Reddy brought back some silverware from their events in Waterford and Mayo.  Peter O’Keeffe reached the final four in the North of Ireland at Royal Portrush and there were inter-club wins in the Womens Senior Cup, Mens Senior Cup and the Barton Shield.

Reddy wins in Connacht

14 year old Sean Reddy picked up his first major golf win, the Douglas Golf Club member won the Connacht Boys U14 Championship.  The long trip to Co Mayo was worth it for the young golfer as he played some hugely impressive golf to pick up the provincial win.

Reddy shot a very impressive one under par 72 on the par 73 course in Claremorris Golf Club.  Sean went out with eight pars and one birdie, and he had just one bogey on the back nine.  Crucially he birdied the par five closing hole to finish on one under.  It Continue reading

Passage West GAA Classic 2021

Passage West GAA Club are heading to the course next week, their annual golf classic takes place in Monkstown Golf Club over two days and the course should be busy with plenty of interest in the event.  The golf classic is a regular feature in the club calendar and returns after missing last year due to Covid.  Already there has been a lot of interest in the event with members and supporters signing up to play.

The event take place on the 22nd and 23rd July.  The format is a team of three, the cost is €250 per team and the club are closing in on their target of 75 teams over the two days.  There’s also an option to sponsor a tee box for €100, or a corporate rate for a team and tee box sponsorship.  The main sponsors for the classic are Wisetek and the Cork company are delighted to support t Continue reading
