McDonnell wins second Kerry Boys title

Monkstown’s Cian McDonnell put together six impressive rounds last week to win the Kerry Boys Championship for the second time.  The 2024 winner went to Ballybunion last week hoping to do well, and he started very smartly shooting rounds of 70 and 71 to lead the field of over 135 golfers.  He was the only golfer to finish under par after two rounds on the Cashen.

John Doyle and David Howard were part of the Ireland team that were crowned Women’s and Men’s Home Internationals champions for just the second time in history after a thrilling victory over England last week.

Playing at home in Woodbrook, the  Irish team had a combined win over Wales on the opening day, and then tied their game with Scotland on the second day.  Although the men’s team struggled on the first two days, they got it together on the final day, beating England 8-4.  The hosts had a narrow lead after the morning foursomes in Woodbrook, and England bounced Continue reading

Munster Penants for Cobh and Fermoy

The panel of Conor Ronan, Henry Bagnall, Zack Morrissey, James O’Mahony, Robbie O’Leary, Donagh McHugh and David Aherne beat Dungarvan to claim the club’s first juvenile pennant.  They will now head for Moate in two weeks-time for the all Ireland finals.
