Egan wins in Kanturk

Irish International Keith Egan has won the Kanturk Senior Scratch Cup.  The Carton House member carded a three under par 68 in third round to overtake the leader and claim his first win in 2021.  Rounds of 72, 68, 68 gave the Leinster man a five under par total of 208 strokes, and a winning margin of two strokes over local favourite Con O’Callaghan,

Bruen Youths 2021

The 2021 Bruen Youths Trophy will take place on Monday 16th August.  The event is being run over a single round this year and entries can be made by calling the pro shop on 021 438 5297.

The event started in 1986 and has many famous winners.  Professionals David Higgins, Michael Collins, Cian McNamara and Conor Coyne are among the winners.  The trophy also contains the names of Dave O’Donovan, Gary O’Flaherty and recently Cathal Butler, Sean Desmond, Jack Egan and Fionn Hickey have been among the winners.

Murphy’s Play-Off win in Ulster Under 16

15 year old Jack Murphy claimed his second win of the season, this time winning the Ulster Boys Under 16 title.  The Douglas golfer won a three hole play-off having tied for the lead at the end of the 36 hole event.  Murphy shot two rounds of 70 over the two days to finished tied for the lead on top of the leaderboard on two over par.

Egan & Clancy on top after busy week for Cork golfers

It was a busy week for Cork golfers with women’s and men’s action taking place in a number of venues.  In Dublin Valerie Clancy won the Hermitage Ladies Scratch Cup.  The Mitchelstown native had an impressive win over a string field.  Clancy shot rounds of 70 and 68 to finish on eight under.  She had seven shots to spare over the field and was one of just two golfers to finish under par.
