Cork’s Niall Turner won his first Asian Tour event yesterday when he won the Linc Group Jakarta Classic in Indonesia. It was his first tour event since May and the Corkman came back with a bang. Denis O’Sullivan made a welcome return to the headlines over the weekend when he finished second in the European Senior Tour event in Switzerland. Castlemartyr announced themselves as contenders for the Barton Shield last weekend when they qualified for the area final on Sunday next. Castlemartyr were the only team to play in all four rounds, and the beat Cobh in the preliminary round. They beat hosts Douglas with a comprehensive nine hole winning margin on Saturday afternoon to set up a match with Kinsale on Sunday morning. Continue reading
