Douglas win Fred Daly Trophy
Douglas Golf Club bridged an 18 year gap on Friday when they won the Munster Fred Daly Trophy at East Cork Golf Club. It was in interesting journey for the Douglas boys as three times over the past few weeks it looked like they were heading out of the competition. Their perseverance however saw them come back from the brink against Cork in the area final last week, Kanturk in the semi-final and Limerick in the final. Continue reading
Hickey Helps in Munster Win
Munster won the senior inter-provincial title last week and two debutants were key to Munster’s success. Robin Dawson from Waterford made the successful transition from the boys team to the senior team, while Cork’s John Hickey came in with three wins and a half in his five matches.

Cork advance to Fred Daly Area Final
Cork & Douglas set for Fred Daly Final

Douglas and Cork both came through their Fred Daly semi-final matches to book their places in the area final which take place next week. Cork were in action in Castlemartyr on Tuesday and they faced Monkstown. Rory Dineen and Leon Foley featured on the Cork Junior Cup team last week and both won their matches this week.
