The Boys Interprovincials got underway today in Athlone Golf Club but unfortunately there was little in the way of good news for Munster’s golfers. The Under 14 and Under 18 teams were in action in the opening day of competitive action.
The Under 14 suffered a 5-0 whitewash at the hands of Connacht. While there was no more than two holes of a difference in any of the four singles matches, Connacht succeeded in getting off to the perfect start. The afternoon match against Ulster wasn’t much better when Ulster won 4-1. Muskerry’s Jack Egan put the only point on the board for Munster with his 5&4 singles win. The Under 14 side will play Leinster in their final match.

The Under 18 side also suffered a loss at the hands of Ulster. Ulster won the morning foursomes session 3-0 to give them a good start. IN the afternoon singles Munster had wins thanks to Sean Desmond, Cathal Butler, Luke Cummins and John Molyneux. Although Munster won the afternoon session 4-3, they lost on a total score of 6-4
