It was day two of the Boys Interprovincials at Athlone today and there were mixed results for Munster. The Under 14 competition finished up this afternoon, and there was another loss for Munster with only a halved match by Max O’Leary to celebrate. Munster finished in 4th place, the winners were Connacht after their clean sweep.
The Under 16 team got off to a winning start today in their match against Leinster. Singles wins for Ed Walsh, Ian Halpin and Andrew Mulhall helped Munster to secure the win.
The Under 18 team faced Leinster today and Leinster took all three foursomes matches in the first session. Singles wins for Cathal Butler, John Murphy and Joseph O’Neill put a better look on the afternoon session but Munster still lost that session 4-3, and the overall result was 7-3. Munster face Connacht tomorrow in the final day of competition as both sides will try to claim a win an avoid the wooden spoon.
