St Colman’s Fermoy put their name on the golfing map yesterday when they won the Irish Schools Junior Championships in Athlone. St Colman’s won the title with two shot margin over the other three finalists and they took home the coveted green pennant.

Colm Campbell shot a second consecutive one under par 71 to jump from 6th to 1st after the second round of the EMC Lee Valley Senior Scratch Cup. Campbell was two over after 10 holes this afternoon but an eagle 3 on the 11th hole brought him back into the fray, and a birdie on the 15th saw him move into the red figures.
