R&A, GUI and ILGU announce Level 2 Rules School to be held in October 2014
The Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI), the Irish Ladies’ Golf Union (ILGU) and The R&A are delighted to announce that for the first time, a joint GUI/ILGU/R&A Level 2 Rules School will be run in Ireland on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October 2014. Murphy Claims Second Cup in Castlymartyr
Youghal’s Dan Murphy won his second scratch cup of the year last weekend when he shot a level par 72 to win the Castlemartyr Junior Scratch. Murphy previously won in Lee Valley last May with a three over par 75. He bettered that over the weekend with a solid round of 72. Continue reading

Fota Inter-Company Challenge
Fota Island Resort have launched the first Inter-Company Autumn Challenge, and the winners will receive a golf society outing with dinner for 20 people. The competition runs from now until Friday October 17th and the final will be held on Friday October 24th.Douglas win Fred Daly Trophy
Douglas Golf Club bridged an 18 year gap on Friday when they won the Munster Fred Daly Trophy at East Cork Golf Club. It was in interesting journey for the Douglas boys as three times over the past few weeks it looked like they were heading out of the competition. Their perseverance however saw them come back from the brink against Cork in the area final last week, Kanturk in the semi-final and Limerick in the final. Continue reading
Hickey Helps in Munster Win
Munster won the senior inter-provincial title last week and two debutants were key to Munster’s success. Robin Dawson from Waterford made the successful transition from the boys team to the senior team, while Cork’s John Hickey came in with three wins and a half in his five matches.
