R&A, GUI and ILGU announce Level 2 Rules School to be held in October 2014
The Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI), the Irish Ladies’ Golf Union (ILGU) and The R&A are delighted to announce that for the first time, a joint GUI/ILGU/R&A Level 2 Rules School will be run in Ireland on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October 2014. The School will be facilitated by experienced and qualified instructors from The R&A, GUI, and ILGU.
The School is the first of its type in Ireland, and in addition to being attended by candidates from the GUI and ILGU, it is open to any member of the public who has successfully completed The R&A’s Level 1 Examination – either at an approved Level 1 School or via The R&A’s Online Rules Academy. This course is designed for anyone who is interested in refereeing at provincial/district or national level for the GUI or ILGU, and for those who are simply interested in further expanding their knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
The R&A’s Rules Education Programme has three Levels:
Level 1 (available to take online – see – http://rulesacademy.randa.org/)
Level 2 (Rules School – in 2014 this will be the National Referees School for the GUI and ILGU)
Level 3 (Tournament Administrators’ and Referees School)
Places are extremely limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualified candidates. The cost per applicant for the course is €100, which covers two-and-a-half days of tuition (commencing at 2.30pm on Friday 10th October).
