Brothers Tommy & Eamonn O’Driscoll will be in action in the first Alps Tour event of the season. The season kicks off in Egypt next week with the Red Sea El Ein Bay Open in Sokhna GC. There are two further events in Egypt in February and both brothers will have a chance to test themselves against a field of emerging and seasoned professionals.
Tommy played several events on the Alps Tour last year and secured a full tour card at the recent qualifying school in France. Although he’s still playing as an amateur, it’s likely that the move to professional status will happen over the coming weeks of months. For Eamonn (17) the challenge is slightly different. He is currently playing off scratch and this will be his first taste of professional tournament golf. Both Eamonn and Tommy have entered the three Egyptian events taking place this month.
The brothers took part in the Copa Andalucia in Spain last month. Tommy finished 5th in a field of top class European Amateurs and when Eamonn missed the cut on the final day he caddied for Tommy helping him on the greens.
