The last remaining quarter finals of the Fred Daly Trophy took place over the weekend at Douglas and Monkstown. Mallow played their second match and again won on a 4-1 scoreline. The Munster champions beat Youghal on Sunday, and for the second week running they won without losing a match.
Cobh had a thrilling win over East Cork on Sunday evening in Monkstown. The match was tied a 2-2 and 4th match went all the way to the 18th before Cobh finally sealed the win.
Cobh will face Mallow in one semi-final while Kinsale and Fota Island will face each other in top half of the draw.
Munster Country Clubs Results
Lisselan will travel to Kenmare on Saturday for a second round match against Ross after the Kerry side beat beat Glengarriff on Saturday. In Fermoy on Sunday Lismore got the better of Doneraile (4.5/2.5), and in Skibbereen Golf Club Berehaven beat Dunmore, also winning 4.5/2.5. Berehaven will now go on to play Lismore in the second round. Macroom will be the venue on Sunday 5th June. Raffeen Creek’s match against Templemore has yet to be fixed.
