Cork’s Denis O’Sullivan recorded his first top 20 finish of the 2016 Seniors Tour at Bad Ragaz. O’Sullivan recorded his 300th Seniors appearance last month in Wales. O’Sullivan opened with a four under par 66 on Friday to hold a share of second place. On Saturday he was one under for the day and today he signed for a level par 70. Denis now heads for Vorbeck, Germany for the Winstongolf Senior Open which starts on Friday.
Denis is still clearly enjoying life on tour. “This is my 18th year, but it doesn’t feel that long – I’m lucky that I still love the game.” said O’Sullivan at the pro-am day at the Wales Open. “I came to golf late in my late teens, I had played a lot of team sport before. I was introduced to golf and I thought it was wonderful, I gave everything up for it” he said. “I’m still very competitive. I enjoy the competitive nature. I enjoy meeting new people and going to new places. I have a good outlook on things and enjoy what I have. I’m a cup half-full guy, that’s the secret to my longevity. I love playing golf. I have a passion for it, and I have a good woman at home who looks after me, caddies for me at times and lets me carry on playing it.”
