Open Week at Fota Island Academy

fota-island-academyFota Island Golf Academy is opening its doors to keen golfers for the week between 9am and 4pm allowing guests to experience the finest and most comprehensive golf training facilities in the country.  Always innovating, Fota Island recently launched a new membership package for their Academy which for the first time incorporates playing rights and access to the course.  The new package will be unique in Munster, in addition to full access to the extensive practice facilities members will also have access to the nine holes on the Barryscourt course that wraps around the Academy.  Ideal for those who want to improve their game, the Fota Island Golf Academy offers a sophisticated analysis of swing, putt and technique, as well as excellent, comfortable and relaxing surroundings and invaluable advice from PGA Professionals along with expert tuition.

In addition to the outdoor USGA putting and chipping greens, there have been changes to the indoor facilities at the academy.  Two fully equipped practice rooms have been upgraded and now feature two Trackman launch monitors.  The Trackman5 and Trackman4 radar systems give precise details and statistics of ball connection, flight, clubhead speed, launch velocity, height, speed, arc and rotation, all instantaneously analysed by the tour level Trackman software.  Video analysis is also available in both indoor studios.  A golf simulator is also available to use when winter conditions become too haphazard for practice.  The recent upgrade of the indoor studios will allow Fota to provide a best in class custom club fitting facility, and with Collins and Kelleher on hand to interpret the results golfers will benefit from their PGA training when selecting the best options for new clubs.  PGA Professionals Brian Kelleher and Ronan Collins will be on hand throughout the week to answer any questions about the facilities and new membership options.
