Cork IT beat UCC in Muskerry

cork-it-logoCork IT GC leveled the series in Muskerry when they beat UCC GC 6-4 in the second Cork inter-varsity event.  Despite a short frost delay ten matches got underway in Muskerry and although the golfers had a hard wind to deal with, all praised the course which was in great condition.  Rory Dineen led the way for Cork IT when he had a good win over Cathal O’Reilly in the top match, while Adam McSweeney also won the bragging rights with a win over Paul Tobin in the match featuring the lowest handicappers.   Darragh Cashman, Frank Bruen and Alan Riordan all recorded wins for Cork IT while Conor Roche and Tristan Coakley halved their matches.  The winners for UCC were Aoife Ni Thuama, Colm Power and Rory Calnan with Bill Murray and Adam Ahern securing halves.  The 6-4 win meant that the series is now level following UCC’s win in Cork Golf Club two weeks ago.

The next event is scheduled to take place in Monkstown Golf Club in two weeks time.
