The lastest CGI Networking Seminar took place in Cork GC a few weeks ago and the event was a great success with full house present for the two hour session. 17 clubs from all over the county were represented, with managers, staff, captains, presidents and Officers making up the audience. The CGI’s Gordon Campbell facilitated the interactive session and he brought a number of topics out for discussion. Gordon gave several personal experiences from life before the CGI, as well an ideas collected from other sessions. Nine year old Sean Reddy had the experience of a lifetime during Irish Open week when he got a behind the scenes VIP tour. Sean was a guest of the European Tour on the Wednesday after his letter was selected as one of four winning entries from hundreds of letters sent in from pupils and schools all over Ireland. In addition to his VIP tour, Sean also won a prize for his school, and several of his friends from Gaelscoil Ui Drisceoil in Glanmire were also in the K Club for a special golf clinic courtesy of the Confederation of Golf in Ireland.

CGI/Mardyke Arena Golf Club Seminar at Lee Valley Golf Club

The newly formed Confederation of Golf in Ireland (CGI) were out in force last week at the Irish Open, giving over 800 free lessons in their customised driving range at the Irish Open. The CGI were also in Cork earlier in the week to host a business planning seminar for golf clubs.
