Clubs support latest CGI Networking Event

cgi_14-dec-2016_2The lastest CGI Networking Seminar took place in Cork GC a few weeks ago and the event was a great success with full house present for the two hour session.  17 clubs from all over the county were represented, with managers, staff, captains, presidents and Officers making up the audience.  The CGI’s Gordon Campbell facilitated the interactive session and he brought a number of topics out for discussion.  Gordon gave several personal experiences from life before the CGI, as well an ideas collected from other sessions.  Feedback from the clubs was positive with many ready to workshop and implement some of the ideas that were discussed.  Gordon was delighted with the attendance at Cork, and indeed the engagement from the clubs:

cgi_14-dec-2016“The seminars have been a success and the first four have now concluded with over 150 guests attending the events in Castlewarden, Bray, Ballyneety and Cork.  Those 150 guests represented more than 70 clubs from the southern half of Ireland and I am looking forward to the next set of seminars which will take place in the North and West of the country in late January and early February (dates to be confirmed).  Generally speaking, the seminars are designed to give clubs an opportunity to share experiences of their year in golf and their plans for the future.  The seminars can have an input on both by offering advice (by both the host and fellow clubs) on matters that were very difficult or challenging in the year gone by but also to look at plans for the coming 12 months.  This is the main focus for the night as at CGI we are always trying to get clubs to look forward, respecting tradition, but looking at the future with an open mind.  The seminar topics of Price is Right and Open for Business was doing exactly this by asking attendees to really think about the cost of golf at their club in the coming years, what value is in relation to this cost and how realistic it is to deliver a service level that is equal to this; in short, ‘Price, Product & Delivery’.

cgi_14-dec-2016_3The four sessions to date were extremely well attended with three of the four venues a ‘sell-out’.  The engagement in the room was excellent and personally, I have received more than a dozen emails to set up club visits in the coming weeks.”
