Douglas was founded in 1909 and over 100 years later, the Club continues to go from strength to strength, both in terms of the quality of its golf course and most importantly the quality and variety of the social activities and atmosphere within the Club.  The club lowered their joining fee two years ago and that resulted in a large number of membership applications each time the club opened for new applications.  2016 has been a terrific year for Douglas with two key developments taking place.  During the year Douglas completed the purchase of an additional 7.5 acres adjoining the course, and in October members approved a major redevelopment and renovation of its Clubhouse and the building of a new Pro Shop and teaching facility.  2017 promises to be an exciting years as plans for the clubhouse redevelopment take shape.
