Monkstown’s Sean Desmond is joined by four Kinsale goflers in qualifying for the final round of the Irish Boys Open Championship in Tuam tomorrow. Of all the Cork golfers involved John Murphy will be the most disappointed with today’s round. He was putting himself back in contention and was two under through 12 holes, but he went on to drop five shots in four holes and signed for a 75.
Leader Adrien Pendaries from France has a five stroke lead over the field on -4, and a much bigger lead over the Cork lads, so hopes a winner from a Cork club will be measured.
